Notepad++ : Best Freeware Editor

It is based on Scintilla edit component, and written in C++, is the best freeware code editor available. You can create and edit raw HTML pages, javascript files and many more using it, and with ease. It has many features for which you don't have to spend money on the likes of Dreamweaver.

  5. I use for editing Notepad++ because is a very complex program and support languages like C; C++; Java; C#; XML; HTML; PHP; CSS; makefile ASCII art (.nfo); doxygen ini file and other. Olso you can edit several documents at the same time. I got it from here: Notepad++

    it is quite popular, and supports so many languages that it is way better than the default Notepad
