Microsoft SilverLight 2 - Beta 2 is out

Microsoft has launched the Beta 2 of SilverLight 2. The War between SilverLight and Flash is in full flow with Microsoft following release of Flash Player 10 Beta with Beta 2 of SilverLight 2. Both aim at providing richer content to the users. SilverLight is a .Net based technology.

Microsoft Silverlight is a cross-browser, cross-platform, and cross-device plug-in for delivering the next generation of .NET based media experiences and rich interactive applications for the Web.

Microsoft aims to make SilverLight more common platform to deliver richer content than Adobe Flash. But the Point is that Flash is legacy and can't be competed easily. So Microsoft has to try real Hard to make SilverLight going strong. Even not all Microsoft Sites use SilverLight, they are still under development for silverlight.
I personally Like silverlight more as it looks more integrated with the Content than Flash which looks like an External element in the web page. Currently a lot lesser sites are using SilverLight , an example is the Microsoft Downloads center. But Microsoft plans to make it big with the China Olympics, The 2008 China Olympics will be made available Online via SilverLight.
In order to view any Silverlight Enabled website you will have to Download and Install Microsoft SilverLight.
