Google had acquired YouTube long ago, and had also provided Logging in to YouTube with Google Account too. Now they are pushing for Integrating both the accounts into one. So the users who hadn't combined both the accounts are being asked to do so. They are asked to combine both the accounts, by a message displayed on YouTube homepage.
