esnips.com has been a very popular file storage service of the late. I had been using it since 2006 and have even shared some Placement related docs there. Due to this popularity many people stored their MP3s there and shared them, but it caught the eye of guys over at esnips and they disabled direct downloads of MP3 files, enabling just streaming of the MP3. which is not liked by many who wish to download the files to their computers.
Another thing I noticed that the MP3 Player is not working on Firefox 3 (maybe a bug but has to be rectified for Firefox 3). So here I present the 2 possible workarounds for this problem if you wish to download the MP3 files to your computer.
This is what you may call as a layman's method. The steps are mentioned below:
>> Open the file in Internet Explorer (browse using Internet Explorer)
>> Let the whole MP3 buffer
>> Go to the Temporary Internet Files folder. In Windows Vista it is located at:
In Windowsn XP it is located at:
>> Search for the file there, It should be probably named as file88.mp3. It can also be looked for by searching Media Files and with source URL as esnips.com. See the Pic for reference.
>> Check out the file and save it as the desired file name. You are done :)
This is a bit complex method but is 100 percent effective and can be done from any browser.
>> Go to the file page of the MP3 ( for example this page: Halloween sounds )
>> A little down on the page you can find the sharing URL of the MP3 file. it looks like this :
>> Copy all the content between the 'doc/' and the '/file name' which in our example comes out to be the portion in red. ( means you have to copy the part written between the two slashes ).This is the File ID ( In our case it is 847406b3-b60f-46d1-80df-ecd6198a2713 )
http://www.esnips.com/doc/847406b3-b60f-46d1-80df-ecd6198a2713/,-Halloween---Horror-Sounds--
>> Paste the file-ID code in notepad.
>> Paste the above copied data in place of the file-ID portion in the next URL.
So our new URL comes out to be :
>> Copy this new URL and paste it into your browser's address bar and hit Enter. You will get the save as menu so as to save the file. The best part is that you don't have to rename the file as against the first method.
>> Save the file and you are done.
Do ask if you have any questions.
This trick works as of now and is intended only for use with non copyrighted MP3 files.
SOLUTION 1:
This is what you may call as a layman's method. The steps are mentioned below:
>> Open the file in Internet Explorer (browse using Internet Explorer)
>> Let the whole MP3 buffer
>> Go to the Temporary Internet Files folder. In Windows Vista it is located at:
C:\Users\[username]\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Windows\Temporary Internet Files\
In Windowsn XP it is located at:
C:\Documents and Settings\[username]\Local Settings\Temporary Internet Files\
>> Search for the file there, It should be probably named as file88.mp3. It can also be looked for by searching Media Files and with source URL as esnips.com. See the Pic for reference.

>> Check out the file and save it as the desired file name. You are done :)
SOLUTION 2:
This is a bit complex method but is 100 percent effective and can be done from any browser.
>> Go to the file page of the MP3 ( for example this page: Halloween sounds )
>> A little down on the page you can find the sharing URL of the MP3 file. it looks like this :

>> Paste the file-ID code in notepad.
>> Paste the above copied data in place of the file-ID portion in the next URL.
http://www.esnips.com/nsdoc/file-ID/ts_id/1215858421531/ns_flash/file88.mp3
So our new URL comes out to be :

esnips.com is the best site for downloading the mp3 songs but i often use it for downloading the books because there i can easily search the books which i want.
Thanks a lot!
woweeeeeeeeee the second one really works :)
Thanks for workaround. The Solution 2 woked for me.
I would say this solution is easier than the first: I have never been successful with the first method. For one thing I could not see a media file which got bigger in IE cache at all! Vista is not good for this.
Zuhaib took their link generator down recently as they got notified about it being against "legal sharing".
I am sure in time esnips will foil this method too:(.
Thanks once again.
here one free java tool
you can download song without browser

Thanks for this guide. It works!!!!
its works well, great site for mp3
Very nice...I used this trick to download a rar file; worked perfectly. Thank you for sharing!
A good trick but you don't need it anymore. All files, including mp3s are currently downloadable on eSnips as the default setting :)
sweet ! but this practice legal?
I think music can be free to listen and download if the record companies werent so greedy. First they rip off the artist then they over charge buyers and media.
Thanks a lot Rajesh...
